Cathie Ried

ABOUT

Cathie Reid AM is an Australian entrepreneur, investor and board leader with a career spanning healthcare, technology, cybersecurity and philanthropy. A pharmacist by background, she is best known for co‑founding several of Australia’s most significant healthcare businesses, including Epic Pharmacy Group and Icon Group, which became the country’s largest dedicated provider of cancer care before its sale in 2022. Her career has been defined by building complex, mission‑driven organisations at scale, underpinned by a long‑standing belief in the role of technology and innovation in improving health outcomes.

Through Epic Pharmacy Group, Cathie helped establish a national provider of pharmacy services to hospitals and oncology centres across Australia. With Icon Group, she played a central role in the development and expansion of integrated cancer care services across Australia and internationally, including Asia and New Zealand, before she and her husband and co-founder Stuart Giles exited the business in 2022. She has also founded and successfully exited other ventures, including APHS Packaging (now DoseAid), a GMP‑licensed medication compliance manufacturing business, and Epic Digital, a healthcare technology platform focused on integrating clinical data across disparate systems.

Cathie served as Chair of AUCloud / AUCyber (ASX: CYB), stepping briefly into an Executive Chair role through the company’s takeover in early 2025. She currently serves on the board of the Brisbane Lions AFL Club and remains a respected voice in technology‑enabled industries.

Philanthropy and leadership development are now central pillars of Cathie’s work. She is Co‑Founder of the SpArc Foundation (formerly Epic Good Foundation), which supports initiatives across health, education, community empowerment and social justice. A Member of the Order of Australia (AM) since 2019, Cathie has received numerous honours for her contributions to healthcare and business, and is a regular speaker on leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship.
